Arlington Chiropractor Dr. Mark Potter
“Simply put, I was a skeptic!” admits Dr. Potter.
"I came from a long line of medical doctors and nurses and I thought I would head in the same direction. While participating in a 24 hour bike race I began to experience numbness and tingling in my hands. One of my friends in the race suggested I go see his chiropractor. I was leery about how chiropractic could help me with numbness in my hands but due to his prompting I decided to give it a try. After a few visits the numbness and tingling went away and I learned a lot more about chiropractic and how it can bring health to the whole body. From that point on I knew that I wanted to be a chiropractor and help others,” states Dr. Potter.
Dr. Potter began his education at Wesleyan University and NY Institute of Technology prior to his admission to Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Western States and received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in June 1984. He has been practicing chiropractic in Arlington since 1986. After being introduced to Activator Methods of Adjusting in 1990, Dr. Potter began to study this technique.
“Now I only use this “low force” technique in my office. It is a gentle, safe, and effective light force technique that allows me to adjust people of all ages: from infants to elderly.” Dr. Potter is Advanced Proficiency Rated in the Activator method and participates in yearly continuing education classes in Activator methods.
We are a Chiropractic Family...
Dr. Potter is married to Karen Potter, a holistic Health Coach and educator and they raised four children who were born naturally and were never vaccinated. (Two of their children were born at home by chiropractors while they lived in Portland.)
“We routinely adjusted our children, even from birth, and fed them nourishing food while avoiding over the counter medications and antibiotics,” added Dr. Potter. “The first thing our kids would ask for when they weren’t feeling well was to be adjusted. Providing chiropractic adjustments for our children gave their bodies the best chance to do the work it was created to do….heal and maintain a healthy body.”
"When I am not working I love to ski and snowboard or go to the beach. I especially love the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I enjoy being outdoors and taking my 4 year old boxer out for daily walks. When possible, I love to spend time with my children and grandkids... (They are living in Washington, DC, Montana and Northern California.) I enjoy reading and listening to music and when the New England weather allows….I enjoy riding my Bergman 450 scooter or going for a bike ride. I am an active member in my Christian church and feel that true health is not only physical but a combination of body, mind and soul and I strive to find and maintain balance in all these areas."
